Local Governments Benefit from Grant Awards, Rasel Says

December 18, 2025

HARRISBURG – Rep. Brian Rasel (R-Westmoreland) today announced more than $2.3 million in Local Share Account grants were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority for projects within the 56th Legislative District.

Local Share Account grants support economic development, job training, community improvement and public interest projects through gaming funds generated at Pennsylvania casinos. The CFA is an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development. It distributes funding through several programs dedicated to economic growth.

“Between recreation, infrastructure maintenance and public safety, our local officials are dedicated to keeping spending low but still providing the services local families and businesses need and deserve,” Rasel said. “These projects improve the overall function of local municipalities and their visitors. I am grateful to have partnered with Sen. Kim Ward in getting these grants funded.”

Entities receiving grants include:

Irwin Borough, $151,512 to rehabilitate the Fourth Street parking lot.
City of Jeannette, $484,697 to purchase a new dump truck.
North Huntingdon Township, $650,000 to replace the Woodside Drive Pump Station.
North Irwin Borough, $128,199 for a new public works vehicle.
Penn Township, $593,867 for much-needed HVAC repairs at the municipal and library building, and to repave various areas within Municipal Park.
Trafford Borough, $330,169 to purchase a new street sweeper.
